Derek B.N. Seyller is Of Counsel with the law firm of Hardyman & Associates, Ltd. and is licensed to practice law in the States of Illinois and Wisconsin. He represents clients across several practice areas, with a focus on estate planning and administration and real estate matters.

In Mr. Seyller’s estate planning and administration, he partners closely with individuals and family-owned businesses to preserve estates, structure efficient wealth transfers, and address tax considerations through tailored lifetime plans and strategic post-death solutions. He also advises and represents fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and probate estates, guiding clients through complex administration obligations. When meeting with clients, Mr. Seyller is passionate about not only guiding them to receive the most appropriate estate plan to address their needs but also educating clients in understanding why and how those needs are being satisfied.

Mr. Seyller is a member of the Young Lawyers, Business Law, Estate, and Real Estate sections of the Winnebago County Bar Association and sits on the Real Estate Forms Committee. He has previously sat on the Board of the Association and served as President of the Young Lawyers section. He has partnered with the Winnebago County Bar Association and the NorthWest Illinois Alliance of Realtors to educate local professionals on the evolving real estate industry and to present at monthly workshops, educating individuals on estate planning basics and the importance of having one in place.

Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Derek enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Mallory, their Bernedoodle, Drax, and their family and friends, when not in the office.
